v0.3.0: Steps in view

- Click a step in the transcript (a command, a file read) to see what it printed, as in Claude Code. A finished reply keeps its steps folded under it
- Search in History: it looks through every conversation in the logs, not only the recent ones, and Open works on what it finds
- Widget cards stay where you dragged them after a reload
- Two computers: sync
KryonDatawith Syncthing (README, Two computers). A.stignorekeeps each computer's own state out,KRYON_MACHINEgives a computer its own logs, andKRYON_ROUTINES=0leaves routines and notifications to the other one - New projects name their folders
<project>-vault,<project>-repoand<project>-assets, so an IDE tells them apart. Plainvault, repoandassetskeep working - The sentence Kryon is reading aloud turns bold in the tool's colour in the transcript and is kept in view
- History's Open puts a finished conversation back in the assistant, to read the whole answer or carry on
- Kryon installs cleanly as an app: PNG and maskable icons for Android, an iPhone home screen icon, and a fixed app id
- A skill can pick its own tool with
mode:in its frontmatter, whatever the slider says. When the tool lacks the skill'smodel:, Jev picks one of that tool's models instead. The starter skills tuned for Claude now run in Claude Code, and onboard and review know aboutmode:
Changed
- The interface sounds match the deeper voice: an octave lower, war horns with a brassy filter, detuned saws and a sub-bass impact under the big ones (start, done, failed, view, tool switch)
- The steps speak in Kryon's voice: "Executing", "Reviewing", "Dispatching a frame:".
persona.mdsets these words in its frontmatter, so a plain persona gets plain steps - A long conversation keeps its thread: past its last 10 turns, the 30 before them are kept short instead of dropped, for Jev and for a new tool session
- Kryon moved from port 3000 (often taken by web dev) to 5796, and its address is http://kryon.localhost:5796. Run
npm run autostartagain, and reinstall the app if you installed it: the old address is a different app to the browser
Fixed
- A file card opens when the tool wrote KryonData's real path, as it does when KryonData is reached through a link (
~/Documentspointing at another drive) - Claude jobs can reach the network from their commands again (git push and pull, npm, curl): its sandbox refused every host, since it can't ask for approval in a background job. Mail and webhook jobs still get no network
- Claude jobs stage git files by name instead of
git add -A, so the empty files Claude's Linux sandbox briefly puts in the working folder never end up in a commit - The line under the core stays on one line, cut with an ellipsis (hover for all of it), instead of wrapping a long command into two ragged lines
- A step shows what a command is for ("Read the sprint board") when the tool says so, instead of the raw shell line
- Sandboxed tools can write KryonData when it's reached through a link, instead of finding it read-only
- A step that runs a command shows the command itself, not the
cd /long/path;in front of it - The Codex usage card names a monthly window (the Go plan) Month instead of Week
- A Claude Code or Codex login that was revoked or expired shows the tool as not ready, and asking it says to log in again, instead of every job failing
- Needs you lines added while Kryon was off (by the other computer, or by hand) now reach the phone when it starts
- A routine that runs every so often (the heartbeat) waits twice as long after each failure in a row, up to a day, instead of failing and spending credits at every interval
- A typo in
routines.jsonno longer turns every routine off without a word: Needs you says what's wrong - The orb no longer stays on "thinking" after a job whose last message was already read out
- The app icon is drawn bolder, so it reads in a browser tab and a taskbar

v0.2.0: Always on
StableAll checks were successfulRelease / Create Forgejo release (push) Successful in 2sreleased this
2026-10-04 16:17:58 +00:00 | 38 commits to main since this releaseAdded
- Each conversation keeps one live tool process (Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode), so follow-ups answer in about a second instead of 3 to 7.
KRYON_PERSISTENT=0goes back to one process per message - Delete a calendar event: a job asks, it waits in Needs you as
🗑 <title> · <start>, and your tick deletes it if the event hasn't changed since - Needs you lines are answered with buttons: Send (a mail draft), Delete (a calendar event), Done (anything else), or ✕ to say no without doing anything
- Undo: with git installed, each job's changes to your notes and settings are kept in
.kryon/history.git, and History can put them back - Routines can run every so often (
every,between), when a folder changes (on), or from a webhook (hook, withKRYON_HOOK_TOKEN) - A
heartbeatroutine goes throughheartbeat.mdevery four hours and flags only what needs you soon - A nightly
learnskill sharpens the skills that went wrong that day and drafts new ones from tasks that took several steps - A
mailskill to read, triage and draft email - New Needs you lines can reach your phone through ntfy (
KRYON_NOTIFY_URL,KRYON_URL). Kryon installs on a phone's home screen, and the README explains reaching it over Tailscale - Wake word: with Audio → Wake word, the mic stays open and Kryon answers after its name, including the ways Whisper mishears it ("cry on"). While asleep, the hint shows what it heard
- Imported skills wait in Needs you for a read, the ones that mention links or network commands first
- A browser (Playwright MCP) example in the README
- Widgets show whole files, Markdown included, and the map's Open button pops a note up as a widget
- OpenCode's starter models mix OpenRouter with providers used directly, and skip those not logged in
Changed
- Jev gives each request only the MCP servers it needs, and a skill can name them with
mcp:. A job that reads mail (or another server markeduntrusted) gets no web at all, so a mail can't make it send your data anywhere - Every session, project jobs included, is told where past conversations are kept
- Tools are asked for replies that sound natural read aloud
- The README makes the provider choice explicit, OpenRouter optional, and explains using a Gemini key
- After 2 minutes with nothing happening, the map and the orb stop drawing (the tab used more than a CPU core just idling); any input, speech or job brings them back
Fixed
- Long Needs you lines no longer spill over the next one
- The orb's rotated text no longer leaks GPU memory
- The core's clock no longer runs backwards on its first frame
- Release notes come from CHANGELOG.md

v0.1.1: Live jobs and a new voice
StableAll checks were successfulRelease / Create Forgejo release (push) Successful in 3sreleased this
2026-10-04 02:08:18 +00:00 | 67 commits to main since this releaseAdded
- Stop a running request, and queue new messages while Kryon is still working
- Clicking a job in the Live panel loads its conversation into the transcript and narrates from there, without reading out what it already said. While a job runs, New conversation becomes Move to Live and stops the narration
models.jsontakes an optional per-tooleffort(medium when left out). Jev only asks for more on requests that need it- Every tool gets the writing rules that keep replies free of AI tells, and how to use a project's vault
persona.mdgives Kryon a guardian-intelligence voice
Changed
- Tools run at medium effort by default instead of their own default, which thought two to three times longer on some steps
- Replies and tool messages show as soon as they arrive, and the voice follows. Text used to wait on speech, 3 to 4 s a sentence while a job runs
- The voice is Kokoro
am_michael, lower and a touch brisker, with overdriven grit, a softer low end and a longer hall, closer to the Warmind reference - The persona sets the reply tone instead of fighting the style rules
Fixed
- Long narrated jobs no longer run the tab out of memory: each spoken sentence's effects chain is unplugged after its reverb tail
- Project jobs use the vault path Kryon gives them over stale ones in the repo's docs
